The most asked question from new buyers looking to live in the area is ‘how loud is the speedway’?
For those of us who have lived in the area for years, the sounds of revving engines have become background noise that we expected to hear from early spring to late fall, but for new home buyers, not so much. In a number of instances, the noise prevented buyers from buying an otherwise ideal home in an ideal location.
The question now is: will property values increase when the raceway closes?
Possibly. With the removal of the raceway and associated noise, we can speculate that the Solterra/Red Rocks Ranch may become more attractive to buyers who were previously discouraged by the sound or race cars in their backyards every summer, thus increasing buyer interest in the area.
The Speedway will close in October so next year’s Spring or summer markets should be a little quieter!
